How To Replace Your Habits To Live An Outstanding Life

Quality is not an act, it is a habit.

If you want to achieve world-class success, if you want to become incredible in your skills, if you want to create a meaningful life then time has come to start checking your habits. Our habits have made us what we are today. And our habits have the capability to transform our lives into what we consider best in the world.

Habit is a routine of behavior that is repeated regularly and it occurs subconsciously. For example, when you wake up at morning you directly go to the bathroom, or you brush your teeth. after getting ready you have your breakfast. These all activities are stored in your mind and it occurs subconsciously. This is the time where you are thinking about something else.
Let's take another example before sleeping you thought that from tomorrow I will wake up at 5 a.m and go for running but alarm rings you feel tired, you are unable to stand up and you think "Leave it I will go tomorrow" and again this loop continues. This is the habit. You have the habit of waking up at 7 am and for 20 or more years you are continuing to wake up at 7 a.m then how in one day you can change it.

Why It Is Difficult To Delete Habits

Habit is the process where our activities become automatic. What we repeatedly do for long years gets imprinted in neural pathways. So, its difficult to delete a bad habit but the good news is that you can replace it with a good one. For example, a person who regularly smokes cannot control the urge of smoking for a single day as he knows he feels good when he smokes. Cigarette contains nicotine which causes a change in the brain that makes the person relaxed. This reward makes him continue the habit. That's why habit continues.

Replacing And Building

1. Deleting your bad habit like smoking, procrastinating, nail-biting, shouting on others for no reason, always sitting and sleeping etc. is difficult but you can replace these habits by being aware.

2. You can track down cue of your bad habits. Cue is the trigger which causes the habit to come out. Triggers can be of various types like time (time at which you practice that habit), place (the place which encourages you to practice that habit), or your friends with whom you developed that habit or emotions like feeling stressed or sad. Identify it and replace that time/ place/ friends activity/ emotions. Now slowly eliminate it by replacing with small steps of good habits. Don't try to change in one day otherwise,  you will fall into the same trap. Slowly eliminate that habit and replace it with the good one.

3. It takes 66 days to form a new habit. After 66 days it becomes automatic. Whatever you want to achieve whether it is learning new skills, exercising regularly, painting, singing, studying your course, it requires time. By regularly working on your goals you can rewire your brains for new habit and it will become automatic. You have to work for 66 days on that task. It will be hard at first because strength comes after the destruction of weakness and that's why it is hard at first.

When you will make your goals as your habit i.e. when you automatically start working on it after 66 days then you will notice a change in your way of thinking and your skills will become sharper day after day. So, don't give up and work every day towards your goal because you are born to achieve greatness.
